MRTG is doing what it was told to do and is graphing accurately in Bytes.
Network throughput is typically measured in bits (thus the 1.5 Mb). If you
would like to see it in bits instead of Bytes, add "Options[target]: bits"
for the interface you are monitoring. This should generate graphs that
should look a little better to you.
