[mrtg] [OT] mrtg-ping-probe and "-p"

Sorry if this if OT, but could not find an appropriate mailing list
for the mrtg-ping-probe utility. Here is my question: can I use the -p
option as a multiplier to the original value returmed by the ping
utiility? What I am trying to achieve is a "closer_to_reality"
measurement for an application, knowing its "number of turns" and the
average packet size, then using the data to "feed" the mrtg-ping-probe
program ... something like:

perl mrtg-ping-probe -k <some-number> -p <number-of-turns>*<?!?> -l
<average-packet-size-for-my-app>

... or, better yet, on this subject: is there any way I could this
better, without re-inventing the wheel (as I also need to do some more
math with the results, and I still have to figure that part out)?!?

TIA,
Stef
