Hi Mohit,
Tnx for your response !
Do you have a link to doc's about using WMI for SQL ?

I cannot believe how many people are plaqued by this problem and how
Microsoft blantantly refuses to fix this problem!
This is a very well known problem that Microsoft has declared it will
not fix - Microsoft told me to stop using SNMP in conjunction with
MS-SQL and use WMI instead. This has been discussed many times in the
past over this very mail-list - I know because I personally did it
sometime this/last year!
The problem is the Microsoft SQLserver SNMP agent has bugs: it will
correctly honour a GET-NEXT on its tables, but a GET with the correct
instance will fail with a noSuchName.
People have been reporting about this problem (I traced through
newsgroups) since 1999 - and Microsoft acknowledged it in 2005! The
worst part is they widely publicize that they support SNMP with SQL -
KNOWING that their SNMP support is buggy!

Interesting one. I'm seeing the same thing.
I've not monitored SQL connections before, so took a look at this.
I'm checking against a Win2003 Server with SQL2000sp4.
snmpwalk -v 2c -c COMMUNITY HOST
.1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.4.1.1.2.1.16.8.65.75.76.68.69.86.48
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.311.1.4.1.1.2.1.16.8.65.75.76.68.69.86.48.49 =
Gauge32: 36
snmpget -v 2c -c COMMUNITY HOST
.1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.4.1.1.2.1.16.8.65.75.76.68.69.86.48.49
Error in packet
Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB.
Failed object:
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.311.1.4.1.1.2.1.16.8.65.75.76.68.69.86.48.49
This smells of being a Windows SNMP issue.
I'm now loading all my MS mibs into my linux box (and discovering
issues), stay tuned.
Later'ish
Craig
