[mrtg] Newbie question

Hello,
I'm starting up with MRTG and while monitoring IP packets (ipInReceives
and ipOutRequests) I get the results in B/s or kB/s (for example, the
first graphic returns "Max In      288.9 kB/s              Average In 41.6kB/s
Current In 26.0 B/s") - are the units correct or am I doing something
wrong in my configuration?
Here's the mrtg.cfg file for the ip target:

Title[IP]: IP Datagrams
PageTop[IP]: <H1>IP Datagrams for PC</H1>
Target[IP]: ipInReceives.0&ipOutRequests.0:pub...<http://groups.google.com/groups/unlock?msg=e05e6f2b6e68f4ec&_done=/group/comp.dcom.net-management/browse_frm/thread/451578cd05752df4%3F>
