[mrtg] Upgrading from 2.090006 to 2.15.2

I have a mrtg installation version 2.090006 running on  "Red Hat Linux
release 7.3 (Valhalla) Kernel 2.4.18-3" that has been working like a
champ since 2003 and am interested in upgrading it to 2.15.2. My
predecessor said he tried to do this but he had to back out because of
problems (it has been awhile back so he can't remember what the problems
were). Does anyone have any input on how the best way is to attach
getting this thing up to rev?
