[mrtg] Can't add any devices with cfgmaker

I am just guessing here as I can not tell enough about your
configuration as you have not posted it and you would need to post your
apache configs also.

In short, the mrtg process needs r/w access to the directories for these
files as it runs(the user it runs as via cron) and further apache needs
to have access to them and in apache's httpd.conf, you need to correctly
point it to the files mrtg is creating.

But I really recommend from what you are saying that you need to not do
native database and rateup and move immediately to rrdtool and
routers2.cgi.  It will make your life easier and you don't have to build
any html files to get to the graphs.  And the graphs will be created as
they are requested.
