Phil,
Sorry - can't help, but I can sympathize with you. I've
done the same things. I can't get past the IEEE problems.
I just went back to 1.02 or whatever before they used to
check for that ;-) I don't mean to scare you, but this
is the least of the problems. It appears that there is
some problem with perl shared libraries on AIX4.2 and 4.3.x
so that the tests in the rrd perl-shared directories will
not work right. I thought I could work around this - spent
months with different compilers, different versions of RRD and
cricket and new versions of PERL. It's a show stopper!
Please let me know if you have any luck or hear of anyone
else that does with AIX 4.2 or above! I finally just built
a linux box and said phooey with it. The RRD is well worth
having, but I'm tired of dinking with the problems on AIX with
it.
