Spikes are usually the result of a device restarting, together with
a faulty configuration of your RRD. You may want to check your settings
such as xff and min/max.

I think you mean that you've edited an xml dump? If so, you shouldn't
just remove lines.
80 Mbps will show up as a number like 1.00000e+07, you could change such
numbers into NaN.

Slight variations in the xml dump format may cause these kind of
errors, it seems that the script needs to be updated to handle
the current output format.
