For a better understanding (if needed, at all) you could collect the
values you send to RRDtool and process them manually. It does take
some of your time but it shouldn't be too hard to do. If your results
match those of RRDtool, you know you understand it perfectly well.
You seem to understand it; maybe you need some on *when* and *where*
consolidation happens.
