[smokeping-users] Errors after install

I'm a newbie to Linux so I'm sure I've done something stupid here.
When I run smokeping --debug I get the following error:
 
 /usr/bin/perl: relocation error: /usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.33/lib/perl/auto/RRDs/RRDs.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Gthr_key_ptr
