Hi,

Debian Etch running Smokeping 2.03 and Echoping 5.2.0-2.1

I've now got the graphs appearing but there's no data in them. The
/var/log/messages file is erroring with:

smokeping[14496]: EchoPingSmtp: WARNING: "/usr/bin/echoping -P 0xa0 -p 6
-t 1 -w 1 -4 -S -n 5 blah.blah.blah.ac.uk" exited with status 1 -
output follows

smokeping[14496]: EchoPingSmtp: Failed setting IP type of
service octet (Operation not permitted)

So the error comes from Echoping but I wondered if you guys had any
experience with it?

The -P flag seems to be the culprit, so I read and re-read the man page,
but my small brain couldn't work it out, it says:

-P n Set the IP type of service octet in the transmitted
packets to

the least significant eight bits of the integer n. See
ip(7) or

              ip(4) (depending on your Unix).
/usr/include/netinet/ip.h may

contain interesting constants for setting Type Of Service.

If anyone understands what this means, can they put it into really small
words.

Thanks,

Stuart.
