[smokeping-users] Smokeping daemonizes but can't browse on web

Hi Josh,

Actually, there are no files there (in either directory you listed). I do have a /var/www/html/smokeping directory though. Do I need to configure the ./doc/smokeping.html doc and copy it to that directory?

---------------------------------

Looks to me like you put the files in /var/www/html and not /var/www/cgi-bin. I am using CentOS myself and I have it as:

/var/www/cgi-bin/smokeping.cgi

I use the URL host/cgi-bin/smokeping.cgi

My linux server is Happv.proxima.local [192.168.1.105<http://192.168.1.105>]. I haven't made any custom settings to my Apache. I am trying to open the page with Mozilla Firefox. I get "Error 404, Not found." The smokeping.cgi page does not reference the cgi-bin directory [as per instructions setting up Smokeping]. I try to access the link http://happv.proxima.local/smokeping/smokeping.cgi. I get "Error 404." However, when I type in http://happv.proxima.local/, the default Apache page displays.

This is the same way I have it setup in the ./etc/config file. Do you need to see my config file?

Thank you,
ERiC

You don't send enough information for anyone to help you. The debug output you sent is from the somkeping process but you really need to look at the log(s) from your Apache process(es). It would also be helpful to see exactly how your Apache is configured, exactly what you do when you attempt to browse to the smokeping Web page, and exactly what response you get. From the information you sent, "can't browse"
might easily mean that the URL you gave to the browser was incorrect.
